Eliminating extra fat, or turning it in to muscle, is a great way to improve your general health, wellness, and energy levels. With a diet and exercise plan you can turn your desire to lose fat into reality with ease.
The only way to be truly effective at losing fat is through a combined approach of both a good diet and proper exercise plan. The other important ingredient is patience. Losing fat is a process that takes time and it is important to understand that converting fat to lean muscle can actually add pounds, so don’t be discouraged if you see the numbers on the scale go up at first. This is not anything to be concerned about or avoid, but knowing this can help you avoid a surprises when you step on the scale.
In terms of a diet, you must be careful to consume only energy rich foods and avoid those full of empty calories. Cooking with fresh foods and avoiding anything fatty, fried or sugary is a good rule to live by. Complex carbohydrates like those found in pastas and baked goods are better left alone as they provide little in the way of nutrition but take lots of extra energy to burn. Proteins, fruits and veggies and whole grains are healthy alternatives that provide both nutrition and energy in an efficient way, leaving little excess to turn to fat.
Exercise plays an important role in healthy fat loss. You are trying to convert fat to muscle, so naturally you will need to focus on muscle building exercises like walking, running, cycling and lifting.
If you are very overweight and out of shape, you will have to start off small and work your way up. Walking and swimming are good exercise choices because they are easy on the body and can be scaled up as you become more fit and able to take on extra exercise.
For those that are in good shape, running, cardio exercises (like aerobics), and weight lifting all make good choices for muscle building (and fat elimination). Joining a gym will give you access to equipment that target various parts of your body so that you can focus most on your problem areas.
With the right diet and exercise you can eliminate excess fat in a healthy way and have more energy to show for it as well. Motivation is the key to success and you should choose a plan that fits in to your lifestyle so that you will see it through to your ultimate goal.
