Fast Weight Loss Programs; A Flying Start
Posted on Nov 23 2007 | Tagged as: Weight Loss
Virtually everyone at some point has been unhappy with their body and not necessarily wished they were a famous fitness model but at least be able to lose those 10 to 15 pounds that always seem to be carried around. If you are in this category, you can try a fast weight loss diet plan as long as you realize that it is a temporary measure and the effects would only last if you adopted as part of a healthier diet and exercise plan to keep those lost pounds off for good.
Fad Diets
Fad diets are good for only one thing and that is a quick weight loss effort, not something to carry over for months at a time. There have been very few, if any, fad diets that have actually been healthy enough to prolong more than the week or two that most last. You need to have realistic expectations firmly in place before trying a fast weight loss plan as the diet could backfire on you in different ways.
You may have heard of some of these fad diets like the grapefruit diet, cabbage soup diet or even the chicken soup diet. In the short term, unless you have a medical condition, these diets are typically harmless and at the most you will have lost a few pounds attributed to water weight. These quick weight loss diets are not equipped to work on melting the pounds attributed to fat so don’t expect any miracles.
Avoid Sabotaging Yourself
When you follow a quick weight loss plan, you have to avoid sabotaging yourself and realize that the plan should only be relied on for a short period of time. Many fad diets and other quickie programs are not balanced with all the proper nutrition you need each day. Eventually your body is going to start craving things and you will fall victim to these cravings and probably eat more than you should.
During a quick weight loss plan, you may want to avoid any undue physical exertion as you may not be consuming enough calories or nutrients to properly fuel your body. Over-exerting yourself during a rapid diet plan can cause fatigue, dizziness and undue stress on your body. In addition, avoid going out to eat or socializing with friends during your quick weight loss plan so as to avoid temptation and yes, peer pressure.
Whatever weight loss products or plans you use for rapid weight loss, if you link the increased intake of water, with the negative calorie foods and a simple exercise plan, you should have no problems losing those few pounds so that you can easily fit into a smaller size within a few weeks. Just keep in mind that it is a temporary loss of weight unless you start a long-term dietary plan.
